NATIVE
AMERICAN
ARCHITECTURAL
ORNAMENT
The
patterns shown here come from a variety of original sources, including
shelter ornament, pottery motifs, textiles, carpets, and beadwork. The
tribes and groups represented include Navajo, Hopi, Pueblo, Souix, Iroquois,
Inuit, Aleut and Hawaiian. Some of these designs have been adjusted for
precise symmetry and all of them produce seamless large scale patterns.
The original color schemes have been maintained except where versions have
been lightened for use as soft backgrounds.
